Darrel Weaver, M.D., is the Vice President of Provider Engagement and Support at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. In his role, Dr. Weaver leads healthcare information technology, network development and education, project management, credentialing and communications. He joined the company in 2008.
During his tenure, he has served in Health Services and as Medical Director in Health Management. Prior to joining Blue Cross, he worked as a trauma flight physician at Carraway Methodist and held several clinical leadership positions, including Emergency Director at Cullman Regional Medical Center, Chief Medical Officer at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, and Emergency Director at Bibb Medical Center.
