Joshua Proulx is an accomplished informaticist and healthcare technologist with over 25 years of experience. As a National Merit Scholar at Brigham Young University, he earned a BS in bioinformatics and electrical engineering. His early work included cancer research using supercomputers and developing software for malaria drug discovery at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Centre.
A pioneer in healthcare technology, he led the development of one of the first wireless telemedicine Bluetooth EKG sensors and supporting clinical informatics platforms at the University of Utah Medical School and the VA. His research has leveraged natural language processing to explore the relationship between dietary supplements and bleeding risks with warfarin. He also was a developer on the award-winning HeartsLikeMine patient risk module.
