Catheryn Yashar, MD

Dr. Catheryn Yashar graduated from Vanderbilt University and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan and trained in Gynecologic Oncology prior to completing a residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Louisville. In keeping with her background, Dr. Yashar specializes in women’s cancer care and her research has concentrated on technological advances in cancer care, including complex brachytherapy. She is the Chief of the Women’s Breast Radiation Services and also serves the Chief Medical Officer for UC San Diego Health. As CMO Dr. Yashar oversees the daily clinical operations of the hospitals ensuring quality patient care, adherence to regulatory requirements, and fiscal responsibility.
