Sara Toomey, MD, MPhil, MPH, MSc

Dr. Sara L. Toomey is Senior Vice President, Chief Safety and Quality Officer & Chief Experience Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital, Director/PI of the federally-funded Center of Excellence for Pediatric Quality Measurement (CEPQM), and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She oversees the safety, quality, and experience of the care provided and leads strategic safety, quality, and experience initiatives. As the Director/PI of CEPQM, she has been integral to the development of multiple nationally-recognized pediatric quality measures such as being the co-lead developer of the Child Hopsital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (Child HCAHPS) Survey. Her research aims to measure the quality of pediatric care, demonstrate the association between quality measures and healthcare outcomes, and develop interventions to improve outcomes.
