David N. Bernstein, MD, PhD, MBA, MEI is an orthopaedic surgery resident physician in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program (HCORP), which is based out of Massachusetts General Hospital, and a senior researcher at Harvard Business School, where he works alongside Professors Michael E. Porter and Robert (Bob) S. Kaplan on health care transformation initiatives. David is a prolific health services scientist and sought after key opinion leader. He is the Special Advisor for Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) to the Orthopaedic Surgeon-in-Chief at Boston Children’s Hospital and a Clinical Advisor within the Department of Population Health Management at Mass General Brigham. Further, he advises a number of think tanks and governments globally on health care transformation initiatives and served as a fellow at the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).
