Isabel G. Newton, MD, PhD, is an Interventional Radiology physician-scientist at the VA San Diego Medical Center and UCSD. She is Chief of Interventional Radiology at the VASDMC. She serves as the Wellness Director for Radiology at the VASDMC. She serves on the UCSD HEAR Committee and speaks on burnout, suicide prevention, depression, substance abuse, and resilience. She authored a chapter on Resilience. She received a scholarship to participate in the 2021 Stanford University Wellness Director course and also participated in UCSD’s Compassion Cultivation Training. She also participated in the one-year humanities-based Sanford Compassionate Communication fellowship. She was just awarded the Conrad Prebys Leaders In Belonging award.
