Dr. Ayako Mayo received her MD degree from University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2015. She then completed her internal medicine internship at the University of Utah in 2016 and her residency at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in 2018. She is an assistant professor of medicine at OHSU and splits her clinical time between supervising residents and students, direct patient care, and as a virtual hospitalist with OHSU Hospital at Home. She also serves as the medical director of OHSU Hospital at Home. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling (Mexico City and Lisbon this year), gardening, and spending time with her dog, Cooper.
