Dr. Burke graduated from Jefferson Medical College (magna cum laude) in 1988 and completed an internal medicine residency and chief residency at Thomas Jeffeson University Hospital prior to joining the Geisinger Clinic in 1992 as an associate in General Internal Medicine. He has served in a number of leadership roles including Chief Patient Experience Officer for Geisinger Health since 2014 and Medical Director of the Geisinger Skilled Nursing Facility Program since 2018. He has served a Medical Director at Geisinger Encompass since 2006. He has won numerous awards for top performance in patient experience, including three times for the highest performance score for clinicians in the Geisinger Health system. Other roles have included department directorship, health plan technology assessment and ethics committee membership. He continues in clinical practice
