Jennie Wei, MD is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSD and has worked as a primary care physician at the San Diego VA for more than 12 years. Her scholarly focus is Clinician Well-Being and returning joy to the practice of medicine by employing the IHI Joy in Work model. In collaboration with Dr. Simone Kanter, she started a Wellness Initiative within San Diego VA Primary Care. Dr. Wei serves as co-director of Primary Care Clinician Well-being at SDVA and helps to implement the Listen Sort Empower model, which received two VHA Innovation Spread awards. She attended Stanford University for undergraduate studies in human biology then Wayne State University School of Medicine for graduate studies. She completed Internal Medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
