Kevin King, MD, PHD, is an Associate Professor at UC San Diego where he cares for patients as a cardiologist and directs a research lab with two focuses – studying mechanisms of disease using single cell and spatial multi-omics, and training deep learning models to “see” early signs of clinical deterioration and impending hospitalizations from non-contact sensor data during sleep.
He is co-founder of Nightingale Labs, an NIH-funded startup that brings bed-based RPM and AI-based analytics to health systems, care providers, researchers, and families. Their ambient RPM has been used to monitor neonates with congenital heart disease, pregnant mothers in rural Uganda, and diverse high-risk adults in population health programs.
