Karen Wood has nearly 20 years of experience delivering end-to-end patient experience at NYU Langone Medical Center. As Patient Advocacy Program Manager on the Patient Insights Team, she champions patients’ rights and well-being—driven by both professional expertise and personal caregiving for her father and uncle through serious illnesses. These experiences deepened her empathy and fueled her advocacy. Karen volunteers as a community advocate, helping patients navigate transportation, insurance, and medication challenges. She is dedicated to advancing health equity, accessibility, and patient-centered care, emphasizing the vital role of compassion in improving outcomes and supporting patients throughout their healthcare journeys.
