Kella L. Vangsness, DO, MS, is a General Surgery resident at Community Memorial Hospital. Her educational journey includes undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Fashion Design and a master’s in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. As an Area Health Education Center Scholar and American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Federal Health Programs student representative, Kella has demonstrated a commitment to healthcare access and advocacy. She has conducted extensive research on topics ranging from wound healing to attitudes toward vaccination and barriers to breast reconstruction. Before embarking on her medical career, Kella operated a small art business, producing painted series inspired by cells and biology themes. Her artwork has been featured on the covers of literary magazines and technical programs and adorns the walls of numerous laboratories and scientific institutions.
