Meghan Drastal is a transformational nurse leader at the forefront of pediatric workplace violence prevention and behavioral health innovation. As the Behavioral Health Manager for Patient Care Services at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), she leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to shifting hospital culture from reactive management to proactive safety interventions. Drastal’s leadership in implementing the Inpatient Acute Suicidality MAP (Multidisciplinary Action Plan) along with other coinciding safety initiatives, has yielded extraordinary results in staff and patient safety. The hospital saw a 100% decrease in critical patient safety incidents and a 56% reduction in reported workplace violence incidents within six months of implementation.
