Shirley Kalwaney, MD

Shirley Kalwaney is an Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine Physician and Educator with 20+ years of GME experience, serving as Georgetown TY Program Director and APD of Inova IM Residency. She is currently the Director of Graduate Medical Education at Inova Health System and Co-Founder of the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators. Dr. Kalwaney developed Inova’s first Inpatient Diabetes Consult Service and serves as an Endocrine Hospitalist, specializing in Metabolic Health and a Nutrition and Food Sustainability curriculum for residents and fellows. She is on the Executive Board of Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action, leading the Food Sustainability and Nutrition Committee and speaking nationally.
