Suzanne Bentley, MD, MPH

Suzanne (Suzi) Bentley, MD, MPH, is Chief Wellness Officer, Director of Simulation Innovation & Research, and an Emergency Medicine physician at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. She is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Education at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She has a broad background in workforce wellness, medical education, simulation, and safety science. Dr. Bentley is the founder of Helping Healers Heal at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and continues to work as a change agent building programming to offer emotional support, destigmatize mental health struggles, and foster overall wellbeing in healthcare team members through debriefing, empathetic and supportive listening. She credits her debriefing experience and passion for creating psychologically safe spaces for brave conversations as the uniting thread in her multiple professional roles.
